Lesson Information

I offer 40 or 55 minute lessons Monday – Friday during the school year (fall, winter, and spring sessions) as well as summer session.

Group classes are typically offered one Saturday a session during the school year.

Parents/Guardians are always welcome to attend lessons.

Practice Expectations

Learning a musical instrument is a long process that takes dedication, hard work, and consistency. Students are expected to prepare their assignments to the best of their abilities before each lesson. A minimum practice of 5 days each week at home is strongly recommended in order to make progress.

Piano

Students can begin as young as age 3 and should have access to a piano or keyboard at least five days every week.  Please note: A parent/guardian is required to attend all lessons and supervise practice at home for students under the age of 7, and is strongly recommended for students age 7 – 10.

Saxophone

Students must be at least 9 years old to begin.  For young beginners I recommend starting on the alto until the student’s hand size can comfortably hold a tenor or baritone.

Part-Time Students

Packages of twelve, 40 or 55 minute lessons are available for teens in high school and busy adults. Lessons will be offered before or after full time student scheduling and can be taken whenever the student is available.

Performance Opportunities

Performance opportunities include our annual Fall and Spring recitals, SonatinaFest competition, and Guild. Recital participation is encouraged but never forced.

“Learning from Amber has changed my whole perspective on piano. I used to dread lessons every week, but now I feel more confident in myself as a musician and now lessons are the highlight of my week.– M.Z.
